During my internship, I was able to take part in several conservation projects.

 

 

I gained various skills, including:

·Painting conservation techniques: filling, inpainting, tear-mending, re-lining, cleaning, and removal of adhesive

Charles Wilson Peale’s portrait of Governor Paca of Maryland (1772) was painted on mattress linen and experienced extensive previous conservation, including three different fills, and heavy over-paint. After filling a portion of this Charles Willson Peale painting with Modostuc, I am inpainting it inpainted the fills with PVA conservation colors.
